Actors
Cameron Skinner - The Main Male CharacterWe chose Cameron to play the main role in our music video as he fitted many of the requirements that would appeal to our target audience. As he is 19 years old he is a similar age to our target audience, this attracts audiences to our video as they will be around the same age as him and can relate with what is going on in his life. His style suits our Indie genre that we are working with, as he has the right fashion and look. This means people watching the video that are in our target audience will either look up to him if they are male or find him attractive if they are a young female.
Kay Seary - The Main Female Actress

We chose Kay to play the role of the main male's lost love in the video. She suits our Indie genre video and she is also aged 19. Her look also fits the genre as she is attractive and has the right fashion to attract our target audience. Like the male she would be found attractive by young girls and they may want to be like/look like her and boys would find her attractive and aim to be with someone like her.
Another reason we chose these actors to work together was because they are actually in a relationship in real life. This made the parts of them acting together and being close a lot easier as they were already comfortable with each other and able to make the relationship look more realistic to our target audience.

Treatment
We follow the journey of a young man, as he travels away from his past and towards a new beginning, leaving behind the life and love he once had. As his journey advances we begin to understand the significance of this change in direction, both physically and mentally. We witness numerous flashbacks of happier times he shared with his love, as he wrestles to leave the past behind him. The nostalgia is amplified as he travels through places recognized from the flashbacks. The entire atmosphere of this video is one of great sadness, loss and longing for what once was. The past is symbolized in black and white, with high key lighting in order to create a dream-like or fantasy sequence, contrasting with the present, which is shown in colour, representing reality. His love, the girl, is shown throughout only in the black and white shots, this is to identify her as his past and not part of his present life. The storyline is left vague and ambiguous so that audiences will be able to interpret and relate to the video as they wish. The last we see of the young man is as he walks away from the camera and his past, but before the screen fades to black, he looks over his shoulder, just once to show the anguish he feels at moving on.
